The President’s Award for Engagement is designed to celebrate the engagement of all staff and students with the life of the wider community. The award will consist of two €1000 awards, one for a staff category and one for a student category and two €500 Special Merit Award one each for staff and students. Students and student Clubs and Societies who are involved in activities which influence the wider community are asked to put themselves or their group forward for this award. This category includes charity work, volunteering, social enterprises or any other activity in which students engage at a local, national or international level. It is recommended for all students to register as a DCU student on the national student volunteering database StudentVolunteer.ie whereby they can record and showcase their civic engagement online. This online profile can be linked to their nomination and used as further evidence of their impact during the judging process for the President's Award.
